Please check the following interesting evening events and make your travel arrangements accordingly! All these events are included in the conference fee, but not obligatory of course.

Tuesday 12.9.  18-20

Finland is a weird culture with weird competitions. The other cultures are copying us. Be one of the first to try out a topical sport: mobile phone throwing! You have a slight chance to beat the world records!

Watch a video to get an idea (Format: .wmv, Size: ~10MB)

Neither training nor sportswear required, just join us at the Alvar Square ("Alvarin aukio", located between the TKK main building and Dipoli) 6-8pm and have fun!

Wednesday 13.9.  18:30-20:30

Espoo city welcomes the conference participants in Espoo Cultural Centre in Tapiola. This is a cocktail party type of an event with light snacks. A good opportunity to meet new interesting colleagues!

Thursday 14.9.  19-24

Conference reception and dinner at Kulosaaren Casino, a historical restaurant with a beautiful view to the Baltic Sea. We will take a boat from Otaniemi to Kulosaari, so you can enjoy the post-card-like Helsinki landscape from the sea.

The boats leave from Otaniemi 17:30 & 17:45. If you are not staying in the Otaniemi hotel but need to visit your hotel before the reception, buses will take you to the conference hotels and from there to a boat in Helsinki center: Kauppatori, pier 4, at 18:20.

After midnight, the recommended next stop for the bravest is the famous, genuinely Finnish restaurant Zetor
