Doctoral Consortium

For the first time in the MobileHCI conference series, a doctoral consortium will be arranged in MobileHCI'06.

Doctoral students with ongoing thesis work in the field of MobileHCI are encouraged to send position papers to participate in the Doctoral Consortium. In the consortium, the accepted PhD students will present their work and receive comments and feedback from senior researcher on the field. The participants should preferrably be in the middle phase of their PhD research - already well started with a structured research plan or preliminary results, but not yet doing the last preparations for their dissertation.

To apply, prepare a position paper of your PhD research. This should be maximun of 3 pages in conference publication format. Submit your position paper by emailing it to doctoralconsortium@soberit.hut.fi preferrably in pdf format. The position paper should describe their PhD research, its current status, and expected contribution to the field of MobileHCI. The deadline (EXTENDED)  for Doctoral Colloquium submissions is the 21th of May, 2006, 10 PM Pacific time (UTC-8). Doctoral Consortium will be chaired by prof. Kari Kuutti from University of Oulu, Finland.

The consortium will take place in the conference venue on the 12th of September 2006. The accepted participants will receive a free conference registration.
